Bio
Amanda Gunnels is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer based in Fort Worth, TX.
Born and raised in an Atlanta suburb, Amanda began taking classical piano lessons at a young age, and it opened up a whole world and love for music. While she continued her classical studies through high school, Amanda extended her musical abilities to more contemporary styles and songwriting. She taught herself to play the bass and acoustic guitars and began performing all around the metro-Atlanta area. Learning to play multiple instruments also aided in songwriting and recording her own original music.
Amanda moved to Los Angeles, CA, in 2010 to attend Musician’s Institute, where she honed her piano and bass skills and prepared her for the contemporary music industry. Amanda also studied production and engineering so that she could record from her own home studio. She graduated from Musician’s Institute with a degree in Keyboard Performance and with an award for Best Digital Production for her work producing, recording, and mixing a song for an original artist.
After leaving MI, Amanda has freelanced vocal production gigs, recorded piano for multiple artists, produced original work for herself and other artists, and performed on the Las Vegas strip in a Top 40 cover band. She moved to New Orleans in 2016 to work on Bourbon St as a dueling pianist. Dueling shows are unique because they are a high energy, all request, and anything can happen style show. She continues to work with dueling piano shows across the country in both club and corporate settings. From New Orleans, Amanda moved up to Nashville, TN, to be a part of Music City and bring in a new element for her songwriting. There, she continued performing in dueling pianos and band settings, and even began landing sync placements with her original work and collaborations.
Now based in Ft Worth, Amanda continues her career as a producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She works from a home studio for most sessions, but also has access to studios and other professional musicians in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Nashville. Styles include: pop, rock, indie, classical, and country. A few times a week you can also find her performing at Pete's Dueling Piano Bar.
For live gigs, Amanda is available for dueling piano shows, keyboards, bass, and lead or backing vocals.
For studio work, Amanda is available for vocal production and recording, consultations, piano recording and arrangement, and full song production in certain styles.
